PROJECT RECORD / DESIGN & MAKING

Consensus vessel design and web-real-time derivative

How can a complex concept vessel become a work that others can understand, edit, hand over and explore?

Current output
An exterior 3D presentation, a twelve-compartment tour and documented asset packages exist; the project continues to evolve.
My role
Personal project; overall direction and design decisions led independently, with AI-assisted scripted modelling, integration and checks.
01

Context and constraints

Consensus connects a deep-space vessel concept to a personal portfolio. The exterior establishes identity, the interior explains functional zones and visitors need direct access to projects.

Hull, equipment, transit and connections share a spatial system. Editable sources, web assets and check records are kept separately; local updates preserve other interfaces.

02

Options and decisions

The tour starts with the whole vessel, opens its upper armour and follows the near-side transit car through the compartments. Free exploration and a project index support other reading speeds.

The tour uses light-grey volumes, fine outlines and restrained teal feedback. Attention shifts from the moving car to the equipment at a stop and then to the text when reading.

An existing exterior top view shows the overall organisation; it is not a record of the latest interior assembly.

My contribution

I lead the overall direction, content mapping, visual preferences and design choices, requesting scoped revisions through feedback. AI assists modelling scripts, frontend work and some checks.

Defining requirements and reviewing a demonstration are different capabilities from independently implementing all code, simulation or engineering certification. This case records the former and the assisted integration process.

Iteration: C05 from a short movement to complete exchange

The initial M03 plan moved the module a short distance. It showed separation but did not explain where the old module would go, how the replacement would arrive or how support and locking would connect.

The complete exchange adds old-module parking, replacement pickup, return and seating, connector engagement and locking. One handling mechanism performs the exchange and holds the final state.

The delivery record separately checks key poses, linear motion intervals, local lock geometry and exported motion. Local geometry does not prove load capacity, strength, drive synchronisation, manufacturing tolerances or whole-vessel access.

Retained C05 complete-exchange illustration. This is a digital mechanism case, not a physical prototype.

Interfaces and handoff

Equipment, shared hull structure and transit have separate ownership. Each local delivery records sources, retained and replaced objects and known issues; integration follows a replacement list to avoid duplicate shared geometry.

C05 equipment motion depends on shared support, so public-object changes are recorded separately. Passing a local equipment check does not close issues in shared structure or transit.

06

Results and evidence

Outputs include editable models, web assets, motion records, replacement lists and scoped check reports. C05 presents module exchange and C11 introduces the full project.

The 19 September 2026 integration record includes the pressure-pod car, C03 core reveal, C04 multi-track loading and C12 circular connections. It reports passing type, build and resource checks, while explicitly leaving the new browser visual review incomplete.

07

Limits and next steps

Consensus is a concept and interactive work. Fusion, jump-field, propulsion and cooling effects are fictional demonstrations without real performance conclusions. Next steps prioritise content and browsing review before scoped visual or mechanism changes.

METHOD NOTES

Methods to take away

Review the use cycle through one motion

Expand “can be removed” into unlocking, supporting, withdrawing, parking, replacement pickup, installation and locking; inspect every handover.

When to use it
Concept design of module exchange, maintenance and handling mechanisms.
Reusable record format
Step | support owner | interface state | space needed | check | result | exclusions
Limits
This is a digital mechanism and local geometry case. A real prototype still requires load, drive, manufacturing and failure tests.
